I know that this a long shot but some one some where out there must know when Ex Quick Train took place and what it was all a bout, I think it was the time when David Swift (https://www.facebook.com/david.swift.56829?fref=gs&__tn__=%2CdK-R-R&eid=ARDIk2waAssbI_oZXukZP8e_fJUWkHBouviKzDadnpco4U JVsyG-CBvifpXczqkhh-lZrGSxfH2q7IJw&dti=152562091461434&hc_location=group) was driving the Ambulance 432 when he hit a ladder from under a work man up a lamp post. any help please.

Ex Quick Train was the predecessor to Ex Active Edge in BAOR in the early 70s. It was a meant to be a code word for a 'no warning' deployment exercise. However, I am sure that we all got word of it before it happened!

It could be initiated by NATO headquarters, 1 BR Corps BAOR or brigade headquarters.

As well as having vehicles deployed you also had to lay out your equipment so it could be checked against a checklist that the inspecting officers had.

As far as I recall, it happened several time in Lemgo
