The following message was sent to us via the Royal Welch Forum Contact Us form by John Moore. (valonia@bigpond.net.au) John isn't yet a member; however, I have asked him to sign-up!
"My father was in the Royal Welch Fusiliers. He fought in the Second World War. The only thing I really know about him is that he was a 'mine sweeper' in Germany. He never talked much about the war; he said he had lost too many mates.
Dad passed away some time ago. His name was the same as mine except his mates called him JACK. I was known as Jack Jnr. He was a Nottingham lad where I believe he signed up.
I would like to know more about the Regiment and its engagements.
J Moore. I was born in 1940 in Nottingham. I currently live in Western Australia with my family."
