The army (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/Army) has been accused sexism (https://independent.co.uk/topic/Sexism) after regiments referred to sewing sets carried by soldiers as “housewife kits”.
Acknowledging the term was “outdated”, the Ministry of Defence (https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/ministry-of-defence) said that it no longer has a place in the armed forces.

Perhaps in stead of the MOD., stating the term was outdated, they should have asked what should they be call then. Though I believe that the answer should have been, " Thats the name for the kit and that is the name which will continued to be used ".

I would suggest renaming it to a ‘STILL’, as in ‘still a housewife’!
