All, hoping to get some information on fusilier Davies. He died on 30th December 1947, but the family have no idea what had happened to him for him to have a CWGC grave & headstone. We know he was RWF, but no ideas of which battalion, or where he served. If he was pensioned out of the regiment, as seems likely, we'd like to understand where he served and whether he was wounded, invalided out, or whatever.

You helped me with my great uncle Edward Edwards from WW1, but this is a new link to help my very good friend Beverly Williams, his granddaughter.

Also, his wife and nephew appear to be buried in the same grave; is this unusual? He's buried in Broughton churchyard, near Wrexham.

Any information will be gratefully received.

Pete

His number was assigned 16 october 1939, and he was discharged in november 1940 as he no longer fulfilled the physical requirements for army

Next of kin should be able to apply for his service record at the MOD.

ATB,

Lars

Many thanks for that Lars. we have tied this down a little, but I need to get his granddaughter to apply to the MOD for a copy of his service record. Where he served, and with which battalion should be available then.
