What was the best or worst company smokers you went to ?

I think some of the best were on Soltau training area during our time in Lemgo, when we ( DELTAS) used to have a tent set up in the harbour area & each Pl would put on skits etc, we had some good ones when the Coy was in Detmold as well.

Delta Company again, but this time 1968 trip to Kenya. Huge fire, roast pig (with HUGE hornets crawling all over it). I believe it was the evening following our first opportunity (because of water shortages) for a bath after 3 weeks of field exercise, in some farmers stand alone bathroom in his garden, which had a normal household size bath in it. I recall that 20 or 30 blokes had to go through each fill of the bath before they replenished it with fresh clean water. It was a reddish sludge by that time, of course.

My abiding memory (apart from the 'bath') is drinking VERY warm bottled Carlsberg - horrible stuff, made me violently ill!

A Coy 1RWF June 1982

The Playrooms( a large entertainment complex with full video set up)
Surfers Paradise, Queensland Oz

The smoker was organised by Alun Davies 46(CQMS), during the night he got the coy in a large circle, singing " The Dambusters Theme"..arms outstreched....trolleys dropped and plenty of Bombing noises...and all being videoed by the Playrooms Staff. Participants included General Plummer(OC) and Sez Des Lewis 15(CSM). An oustanding night...and a great end to an excellent trip.
