View Full Version : Death and Funeral - George Jones RWF - Korean vet. Denbigh and District Branch

It is with deep regret that I announce the death of George Jones of Ruthin who passed away on Sunday 8th April 2018. His cremation will take place at St Asaph Crematorium on Monday 23rd April 2018 at 1100 hours. George served with the RWF during the Korean crisis and was approximately 84 years old. A Regimental funeral has been requested by the family and Denbigh and District standard will be on parade. Coffin drape, beret and hackle are requested to be made available from RHQ Wrexham which will be collected by the Branch Secretary at a time to be arranged by both parties. Hugh Davies has kindly agreed to attend and sound revelle and last post.

George was a member of Denbigh and District Branch but unfortunately, owing to distance and ill health, had not attended a meeting for some time.

George's funeral went off well, representatives from the branch the standard as well as a bugler were present and were all appreciated by the family and friends who attended. The wake took place in the Brook house Mill, Denbigh, following the service with a selection of food and beer. RIP George.
