Good idea or not as long has it's not going to be funded by the British tax payer gets the thumbs up from me

Just typical! They refused to countenance a Lottery for the NHS which attracted huge popular support but now put forward a suggestion to have a lottery to buy the Queen a boat. Unbelievable.

Good point Keith look at it that way yacht now gets the thumbs down from me better off as you say having a NHS Lottery

I seem to remember it was also put forward under Cameron's watch. The idea then ( I think to make it more palatable to the public ) was when it was not being used by the Royal Family it could be used by ministers to travel the globe promoting Britain. It was dismissed then and should be dismissed now, if money can be resourced to build a yacht then that money can be redirected to the NHS, etc.
