It most probably was illegal but nobody really took much notice I started part time work at the age of 9 years for the local butcher cleaning the shop out fetching large sacks of sawdust from the board mills down the docks I was paid 10 shillings a week plus tips when delivering meat to customers.

Larger and lime, aged 15 in the Royal hotel Cardiff city centre, tried getting served again the week after in the Fairwater arms and got told where to go in a very unpleasant way.

now you are bringing back the memories butchers with Saw dust on the floor wonder what health and safety would say to that
