It's with deep sadness I report the death of Mr Harold Jones of the Welshpool Branch RWFCA yesterday evening, 2nd Oct 2016. A 1RWF veteran of the Donbaik, Kohima and Imphal Campaigns. Harold aged 95, died at the Royal Shrewsbury after a short illness. He was an extremely active member of the branch, "Age did not weary him" and was hugely respected by his branch members. Time spent in his company was always special, he leaves a big hole in the lives of those close to him.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his three children, Nichola, Sandra and Adrian and their families, who are so rightly proud of their Dad and Grandad.
We who survived those terrible battles,
grow fewer and fewer each year.
Old men now, we all may be.
But proud to have been a Welch Fusilier.
