I'm looking for any records that will indicate where or how Charles Mogford was injured in the Boer War.
From his service records, he enlisted in Newport in September 1891, service number 3314.
He was with the 2nd Battalion on 17th November 1891 before transferring to the 1st Battalion on 4th January 1894. He was transferred to the Army Reserve on 7th September 1898, after his 7 years’ service.
His service records show his locations as:
Home 07.09.91 - 03.01.94
India 04.01.94 - 09.12.97
Home 10.12.97 - 22.10.99
S Africa 23.10.99 - 19.05.01
Home 20.05.01 - 30.11.01
On 9th October 1899 he was recalled to Army Service before being finally discharged as medically unfit on 20th Nov 1901. He apparently had a plate inserted in his head after his injury. I've looked on Ancestry and http://www.angloboerwar.com/ but can't find any more info.
Any help would be appreciated
