It is with great sadness to hear today the passing away of Mike "Ginger" Howells.

Mike served in Bravo Company during the Londonderry (Ebrington Bks) days.

I think Mike originally came from the Valleys of South Wales then moved up to the Deeside area?

only just seen this post and deep condolences to you and your family.
i served with your Dad in 4 Plt B Coy from late 73 Until sometime in 75.
i then transferred to the cooks platoon where I became the meat cutter!!!
Although I never stayed in touch with your Dad, I got some fond memories
particularly from our time in Belize in '74.
ya see, I'm from London and although I'm Welsh from grandparents, your Dad and
a guy I only remember as Elliot (Really don't remember his first name) had a drunken night
out at a local bar as you do, and they both adopted me as "London Welsh!"
Yeah, I Was There!!! Was adopted as a Welsh geezer!
as I get older I often think about guys I served with and wonder how it goes!
Sad news.
if you're his eldest daughter, May I ask if your Mother is Anne?
He often spoke of her with much love back in the day!
