Is anyone in contact with Oakesyi was in 1RRW corps of drums and completed my training in Crick in 1986 along with oaksey hughes69 Jones 71 Evans82 and simpson who were all RWF Drummers

oaksy is living in Germany, Jones 83 the Drum Major of the Battalion is in contact with him 71 un fortunately passed away some time back. he had a brain tumour i think 69 and 10 dont know where they are and Simo has gone back to live in London.

Steven Oakes lives in Berlin and has done for at least 15 years. He is fluent in German in fact he sounds more German than welsh my wife tells me. He does keep in touch but i do not have his email at hand. 69 or Soggy as he was known still lives in North Wales. Bumped in to his brother a while back.Haydn sadly did pass away a few years ago and i had the priveledge of blowing the last post at his funeral.Evans 82 got oput in 1994-5 i think. He was married and decided enough was enough. Simmo lives in Northern Ireland having joined transferred in to the Royal Irish. I am not sure as to wether he has moved to London since.
