Photo Gallery

The Photo Gallery database has been corrupted! The software is quite robust; however, as with any software application, the possibility exists for corruption of data. We do not know how or when, but it is likely down to the forum software upgrade we did, which caused other modifications to fail as well.

I have tried restoring the databases and files to no avail. I have also tried re-importing the images without success. I will keep trying to resolve this, but it doesn’t look very hopeful.

The question is, do you want me to install another Gallery and start from scratch or have no Gallery at all?

As one who only uses the forum to keep in touch. Have never strayed from this area so will not comment. I am sure this will become an irritation to some?

When I tried importing them into another Gallery this morning, it recognised over 4,000 images. However, it couldn't migrate them across, although it did import the comments. So yes, we do have them on the Server

Bob, are you able to upload them into media player, for example, then save them to DVD?

I just logged into Gallery and there are photographs there. Timed at 15.44!

Some good news. We believe that we were able to restore the vast majority of our photo gallery. - http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/pgallery/

The problem wasn't the files on the Server, they were always there. Somehow a table in our database, the one that stored all the photo information, was empty.

We have restored the table and most, if not all images are working. However we suspect any images added in the last 30 days will not show. All others however should be fine.
