If you know 100% at this stage he was with that battalion I would highly recommend the units war diaries. If London is too far or too much hassle I can copy them for you for a small fee and a copy gets donated to this forum, I believe they end up at the RWF Museum. Do you know where he went etc after 1944?

According to the Tyler Database.
4198974 Clifford Edgar James Kedward was attested into the regiment on the 15 Feb 1940. He left the regiment on discharge on the 14 May 1946. He was a member of the 1st Bn RWF. Most likely seeing active service at the Arakan and Donbaik in 1943, followed by the Battle of Kohima and the advance to Imphal in 1944. The battalion crossed the Irrawaddy River in early 1945.
Lee you now need to apply for his service record from the MOD. It will cost you £30 and take a few weeks, but will be well worth it. We will be able to assist you in understanding them. Here is the link, so that you can download the required forms: https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records/apply-for-someone-elses-records
I am in contact with Roy Davies, who supplied the pictures. His father was Tom Davies RWF and was a friend of your Grandfather. Roy lives in Cardiff. I will also check with an old soldier friend who fought with 1RWF at the same time. He knew Roy and may have know Cliff.
