Dear Sir,

I think that you should be aware of the death of the above retired officer. I have served with Warren both with the regiment and later, when we were both retired, with the Army Rifle Association.

He died peacefully in his bed on 17 November 2014 in Kirkliston, W. Lothian where he had gone to live near to his son.

Yours Faithfully,

Ray Hawes.

Hello,
Farewell to an officer and a gentleman of the first order. I was only looking at the photo of the shooting team that he was in that competed against the American Marines from Guantanamo whilst the battalion was serving in the west Indies. at Up park camp the R W F won the individual match but lost the team event, the photo of Warren is on my blog http://jungle1810.blogspot.co.uk I am updating the blog at present and some of you may find it interesting. Warren was active in the 3 power visit to Bermuda when the first had the distinction of providing a guard of honour for Churchill Eisenhower and the new French President Laniel. Warren was kept busy again on the battalion having to send a force to deal with the invasion of Guiana. In passing I have been asked by Brian Mead to ( Due to Brian being off line at the moment ) to send condolences to all Warrens immediate family and friends on their sad loss.R.I.P. I am busy on my blog at present doing research on the R.W.F. V.C. winners
