Stormont Camp

Please can anyone tell me anything about Stormont Camp, particularly during 1941?

Sorry about the late response Angela, it took some digging. Very little is written about the 13th Bn in regimental history books. It appears the 13th Bn spent time in Northern Ireland. I'd previously only associated the 4th, 6th and 7th Bn's with NI in WW2.

13th Btn., The Royal Welch Fusiliers - Moved to Bangor on 14/15 Oct. 1940 and remained there until the Btn. joined 72nd Infantry Brigade on 21 Jan. 1941

That was about all i could find, and there seems to be nothing about Stormont Camp. which seems odd.

Hi again.
As far as i can find out Stormont Camp doesn't seem to exist. odd. However.
Looking at the Stormont Estate i find Stormont Castle, which from 1921 until 1972 was, not only, the Official Residence of The Prime Minister of North Ireland but also The Cabinet Rooms of the Government.In 1940 it was taken over by the Military.
But also on the Stormont Estate is a Dundonald House. There are a Number of References to a Camp at this location, This should not be confused with a location of the same name in Scotland.
I am wondering if there is a confusion here, was the Camp On The Stormont Estate, not Necessarily at Stormont.
will keep looking.
A number of Service Personnel are buried at a C.W.G.A. Cemetery at Dundonald.( Belfast)
