Hello fellow Royal Welchmen.

I am looking for someone who fought in the Bore War and maybe WW1.

His name was Arthur Edward Horsby born in 1883 at Bethnal Green. He entered Service and apparently lied about his age. He was a driver and died in about 1930.

He may have been in the Kings Royal Rifles and may have been a CQMS with the number M2/018728.

My relative is looking for how to find this information and possibly how to get a copy of his medals.

Any help with this matter would be gratefully recived.

My mobile is 07989911751. Email cliverees.flippineck@btopenworld.com

Thanking you in anticipation

Clive

No Arthur Edward Horsby went overseas in the Great War, Clive, so if he served he served at home.

I think the only way to find a trace of him is to check the South African War medal rolls in the National Archives. That will give you his regiment and number and the Boer War medals and clasps he was entitled to.

He did not serve with the RWF, that is all you can be certain of. Needle in a haystack, this!
