It is with deep regret that I have to announce that the body found in Crete is that of R A (Arthur) Jones who was a loyal and steadfast member of the Denbigh and District Branch The Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades Association. Further details of repatriation and funeral will follow. RIP Arthur.

So sad too hear of another loss,R.I.P.
The Funeral service for Arthur will take place on Friday 15th August 2014 at 1400 hours in St Marys Church, Denbigh. This will be followed by a private internment at St Marcellas (Eglwyswen) Churchyard. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Arthur will be gratefully received towards The Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes. All serving and ex serving personnel will be made welcome. A Guard of honour will be formed by the Army Cadets.
The funeral went down well. The Church was full, with the same amount outside listening on. Arthur was conveyed to his internment on a motorbike and sidecar. The wake took place in the Plas Piggot Club, Denbigh, and was well attended by all who new Arthur. Refreshments were laid on, in ample supply. A thank you to all members of the branch who attended and also a thank you to representatives of the other branches who also attended, also to the Army Cadets for putting on a fine parade of honour. RIP.
REMEMBRANCE BENCH
R A (ARTHUR) JONES - "BOOTSIE" 4 RWF
A ceremony will take place at 1830 hours Thursday 18th June 2015, in Denbigh, of a remembrance bench. This is in remembrance of R A(Arthur)Jones "Bootsie" whose funeral took place on 15 August 2014 after his untimely death in Crete earlier. All who knew Bootsie are welcome to attend and ex RWF and RW personnel will be made welcome. The Ceremony will take place in the square by the cenotaph.
