Joseph Henry Reed joined the 3rd Bn Corps of Drums RWF on 15-9-1887 at Wrexham agd 14yrs 8mths. Regimental number 1956. Appointed Lance Corporal on 27-12-93 and demoted to Private on 3-6-94 he was discharged from Aldershot on medical grounds (Myopia) on 28-7-1894, musician unfit for service. He was at Altcar on 30-6-1892, Wrexham 16-7-1893 and Aldershot 18-10-1896.
He then joined the Highland Volunteers in Inverness and later became a band leader.
Quite a lot of information but can anyone please help me fill in the gaps, I would like to know more about his service career with the RWF. Where/how did he learn his musical skills, what instrument(s) did he play, which countries did he visit while in service (he later advertised experience gained in three continents), what were his duties.
