Hi All
Charlie Farley showed me some photographs that he was given of the following old soldiers any info on them would be nice:

4179414 Csgt Maurice Roberts Poss 8th Bn RWF

4194755 Lsgt SH Crowe poss Liverpool Regt then RWF (WW2)

54097 Pte W Crowe could be a brother to above

Lcpl Ratcliffe 1 RWF Heavy weight boxing champion 1929

Fus J Westwell 1 RWF Bantam weight boxing champion 1929.

He says he knows its a "Tall Order" but would be grateful for any info on the above please?

4189717 Cpl Thomas Radcliffe won an MM at Donbaik in 1943. He was 1st Bn. Probably not one of the above, but worth mentioning. He was from Caernarfon, born in about 1912, so thinking about it only 17 in 1929…not our man. Sadly killed in 1944 aged 32.

William Crowe 54097 was a Pte in the Liverpool Regt. No service or pension records extant. He would have joined in the late summer or autumn of 1916, I'd say. No mention of a Silver War Badge so he very likely survived the war more or less unharmed.

Confirmed by Richard Ward that Radcliffe MM from Donbaik is not our man, he didn't enlist until 1932.

Original number 35764. Awarded LSGC 1927. Also entitled to IGS 1908.


4194755 Lsgt SH Crowe poss Liverpool Regt then RWF (WW2)
Sidney Herbert Crowe 4/RWF. Looks like he left RWF 5th February 1941


54097 Pte W Crowe could be a brother to above
My database has 54097 issued to Pte Edward A Nicholas. Nearest I can get is 54291 L/Cpl G A Crowe
