Just passing some sad news on...... Jim Hewitt died last night, don't know any further details ..I just received this mesg from Wendy Blewitt. Another great guy has fallen out.

Jim was my first Pl Sgt in the depot, babysat for him many a time, liked running up the sugarloaf with his dulux dog, the rest of the platoon had to follow, top bloke RIP mate.

A great man who had time for everyone. I first knew Jim in Derry and in Lemgo took over the flat in Besterberg from him. Condolences to the family, friends, work colleages and cant forget dear Martin and Wendy, who were good friend of Jim's.

So sad to here of Jim's passing. He was in the same room as me when i joined the Depot in 1966 & at the end of my service he was my boss, 27 years later in 1993. RIP Jim .

1200 hrs - service at St Giles Parish Church.

followed by burial at New Cemetary, Plas Acton Rd, Pandy.

Return afterwards to RWF Bar/Drill Hall, Hightown Bks, Wrexham.

First met Jim in 1968 when he joined Cyprus rec plt in CWRT Y GOLLEN he came from junior soldiers, joined the bat Jun and joined D coy, visited his home in Truro on several occasions as he did mine. A great guy and he will be sadly missed.Thoughts abest wishes to his family.24
