Very very sad but romantic in as much as the non suffering grieving of a long term partner and the blessing that they will be laid to rest together.

Joe and Jean were neighbours in Honiton and we baby sat for each other. The description of Joe in an earlier thread as a "Bn Character" is quite apt. We'd be sitting quietly at home when all of a sudden, Joe would be knocking the door "Let's Party" and wouldn't take no for an answer. He could entertain and would take complete control organising street or garden B-B-Q's to the delight of the residents, military or civilian.

Joe was detached on 'E' posting when the bn went to Hong Kong in 1969 and like many of our comrades, when you're posted away from the Bn for any length of time, you lose touch.

Most sincere condolences to Joe and Jean's family and friends from myself and my wife Verna and all members of the London Branch RWFCA.

Nice write up in the Daily Express today about joey and his wife, It mentioned he was an ex Royal Welch Fusileir and that Joey cooked for the Prince of Wales at his investiture, His daughter said he died of a broken heart a very sad story.
