I am sorry to have to inform you of the death of Aidey Parker, who passed away at 9pm on Tuesday 26th February 2013.

Aidey, a former member of the 1st Bn Drum's Platoon, died in Birmingham hospital whilst receiving chemotherapy treatment.

His funeral will take place on Friday 22nd March at 1pm in St Mary’s Church, Welshpool, followed by a service at Shrewsbury Crematorium at 3.15pm

This is really sad news indeed. Aidey Parker was one of the people I looked up too when I joined the Platoon in 73. After a very short time we became very good friends and did everything together. Parkes left the Battalion in Tidworth however, we did meet up from time to time and it was always good to see him.

Sorry to hear of Parker's passing, I didn’t server with him for long but the short time I did know him he came across as a good solid member of the platoon, typical Drummer well liked by all.
