What are the roles?
Openreach is now looking to recruit around 170 Recovery and Readiness engineers in heavy cable recovery to work as part of small local teams. The roles involve recovering obsolete BT cable safely from the public highway along with survey work.
The locations where we're looking to recruit are across: Sheffield, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton, Derby, Coventry, Lincoln, Carlisle, Stockport, Skipton, Bolton, Preston, Blackburn, Wrexham, Hereford, St Helens, Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol, Exeter, Yeovil, Plymouth, Gloucester, Reading, Southampton, Crawley, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Peterborough, Colchester, Oxford and Luton.
We will also be advertising these roles, for some of the areas, in the local newspapers.
Who’s eligible?
Previous experience of construction and external heavy cable recovery is ideal but preference will be given to those with an HGV/LGV licence. A competitive salary starting at £18.2 k rising to £22.3k depending on the role offered, working a 40 hour week between MondayTuesday 19 February. and Saturday is on offer. Full training will be provided.
