Deepest sympathy to John's family.I recently joined the forum, and one of the first persons I asked about was Sgt Johnny Bellairs, eventually tracing his daughter. It was hoped I would get to meet my old sergeant -after 38 years- at the last re-union,(my first)but it wasn't to be.Goodnight John,I'll have a goodnight tipple for you. There are a lot of old lads will miss you.

I was privilaged to have known John both in the 1st Btn Band and at the Depot Crickhowell. He was a gentleman, a fine musician and most of all a good friend to all he came into contact with.
At the recent Band Association reunion in Ruabon everyone to a person asked about John which is a fitting tribute to a man whose personality and conduct in all he did was appreciated by one and all.
His passing is a loss to everyone he touched. Good night John, we'll meet again on the great parade ground in the sky at some future date.
Shirley and I send our condolences to his family and trust that they will gain some comfort from the many messages of sympathy they will receive.
