Oops! Yes, of course it was Fanling. One of the watering holes was "The Better 'Ole Bar and Restaurant in Fanling. And who could forget Lo Wu and Sha Tau Kok, (or was it Sahtaukok) Police Station

And most of it was still there when me and she who must be obeyed spent our 30th anniversary over 10 days in Hong Kong in March 2000 (and actually took a trip into Canton - which we couldn't, of course, do when we were there in 1970/71) Not called Canton any more though! Couldn't find The Better Ole, the whole area now (then?) consisted of huge hi-rise blocks of flats and flyover motorways.

If I remember correctly, there used to be a Chinese gentleman that arrived on his bike in Fanling some time during the evening accompanied by a woman. It was, I believe, some kind of mobile service...but that's another story!

Yes correct Bob, did you notice I was spelling in Welsh and I do remember ting a ling!!!
