John Meredith: Taffy

I am so deeply sorry to announce the passing of Taffy Meredith.

John lived for decades in Australia but was one of the original forum members. He had a wealth of stories to tell about his RWF days and was usually found in the chatroom of a Sunday night, making friends and throughly enjoying the re-connection with his old comrades. Taffy attended the reunion in Wrexham in the company of his pal, Jungle 1810 a few years ago and had such a wonderful time, meeting all the people he'd previously spoken to online and taking tons of photos to laugh over later.

In the last few months of his life, Taffy faced a cruel and debilitating illness, I hope he has peace now.

I shall miss our Taffy.

I'm very sorry to hear that Sharon. Taffy(who served in the 1950's) was a very early supporter of the site. He grasped the opportunity it offered to an old guy living in Australia at the turn of the new millennium. He reconnected with his regimental comrades, which culminated in a visit to the old country during the annual Comrades Reunion. He was in his 70's, when he achieved all this.
