I’m all packed for holidays, Portugal for a fortnight. Altogether my stuff weighs less than 10lbs; most of the weight being my books, you could get it all a small patrol sack. Colette and my daughters stuff is well over the limit. We are going self-catering with everything provided. Washing machine iron you name it it’s there. Why do they have to pack as if we are emigrating?

Colin,
lucky a washing machine was included in your S.C. holiday otherwise you would have had to leave your books at home because of the weight restrictions, lol. me and my friends have also been away this last week-end, to the Wrexham reunion on departure I weighed app. 10 stone seven, on returning home app.12 stone. hope you and the family have a nice holiday.

Hi Mick, your comments have brought back some memories. Trying to pack your 58 patt webbing as per the list was at times an impossible task. The one that drove me mad was what you were expected in to get in your bum roll. In our case it was NBC suit and overshoes, jersey heavy wool and finally your poncho. It was even worse trying to pack it if it had rained and your webbing was wet. Happy days!!!!
