My dear wife would like see dolphins swimming in the wild for her 40th birthday.
As Hawaii is off the radar this year ...... Does anyone have any good recommendations of where the best area to spot them would be and also any reasonably priced accommodation for a family of five? Quite fancy a caravan for a bit if adventure.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Richard

New Quay Ceredigion South of Aberystwyth . They come in to feed close to shore by the waste from the fish factory plus they do boat trips. Large caravan site nearby.

Thanks Peter
That sounds exactly like the place my good wife was trying to describe. Now to find some well priced accomodation.
Much appreciated

Just a quick note of thanks again.
Just back from the Haven holiday park in New Quay (which was pretty good - and we had a lovely sea view). The dolphins were touch and go, despite spending £60 on a two hour boat trip, we only saw the birds! Spent a couple of days in and out of all the coves and on top of the hills - no sign.
On the morning we returned home, we popped back into New Quay and stood on the breakwater - and dolphins everywhere!
Wife happy, children happy - and I had a great time. Beautiful scenery.

Hi, Richard,
If you had travelled a further 12 miles up the coast to Mwnt, there are dolphins there 8 months of the year, I have just returned from the last three weekends their and have seen dolphins there with their yound every time. Well worth the travel!

Richard sorry you did'nt see the dolphins as much as you may have liked. Maybe a link to follow is the friends of Cardigan bay who have a great interest in preserving the dolphin population in the area.
