I finaly got round to listening to a CD last night that I have had for some years, I found it brought all kinds of memories flooding back of my time in the Regiment, I am sure a lot of members out there will have the same CD but not listened to it right through as I had not until last night.
The CD was I believe the last one made by the band, it was made in celebration of the tercentinary of the Royal Welch Fusiliers in 1989 it is titled: "The Royal Welch Fusiliers 1689 to 1989, To The Beat of A Drum"
On the CD are the 1st Bn Band, the Blaenavon Male Voice Choir and Cliff Morgan Narrator.
I believe it is one of the best millitary band CD's ever made and certainly the best that the 1st Bn made, it has all the music you would expect and some you dont with the added bonus of an excellant male voice choir and an excellant narration by Cliff Morgan.
It highlights the salient points of the history of the regiment in between the music and singing.
If you have this CD get it out and lift your spirits, if you do not have it try and get it it is woth the effort, by the way I found it is best listened to accompanied by a glass or two of whiskey but thats optional.
It is a Bandleader CD and the number is I think BNA 5026.
Happy listening,
Joe.
