Recognising that this began as a more personal thread, I see it has broadened to a more general Seasonal posting.....so,

I wish all Royal Welch, past and present, and their loved ones a fabulous Festive Season.

I shall be suffering in temps of around 80-90F down here in NE Brazil and will only survive with copious applications of cocktails by the pool; much like everyone back home in Wales, no doubt.

Thanks for all the answers and help I have received through the Forum this year and many thanks to those who set it all in motion and suprvise/maintain it day on day. Diolch yn fawr.

Owen

To all our valued members,

The older you get the faster time goes by and it seems like only yesterday that I was writing last year’s message. We have had quite a decent year and have plans for some new innovative things in the forthcoming 2012 - maybe some nice new features for members and even guests to play with on the site!

I am very pleased the way the site has moved forward, but like everything, can be improved upon with some innovative thoughts in the next year. So yes, we look forward to your thoughts, ideas and opinions - good or bad. Don’t hold back - give us some feedback!

We are grateful to all of you who continue to make this forum informative and fun. You are all part of our extended family and community and we thank you for being members and contributing - everyone's input is of value. We also thank you for the great generosity shown by many of you that made donations towards the upkeep of the site this year.

I would like to personally give a big thank you to the admin staff who have been fantastic. It may be well worth remembering they are all "volunteers" who put aside other things to make it all work. Special thanks to the backroom people such as Gerry 43 our Forum Manger, and Lofty-23 and Bertie Ball, who put more time in behind the scenes than some might ever imagine. I would also like to thank our resident military genealogy experts, John (Baconwallah), LarsA, Gwillwill, Al Poole and others on being here answering questions, which are sometimes, as we know, not always easy to give "quick fire" responses to.

So, as the end of the year approaches and we celebrate Christmas and New Year, on behalf of the entire staff who toil endlessly to keep the site running like a well-oiled machine we would like to wish everyone a safe, joyous and lovely Christmas and Happy New Year.

Well, what can I say after Bob's message which has embraced most of the Forum activity including thanks to the Admin Element and the members who, without your contributions, the Forum would be a pretty dull place.

Before wishing you all the festive greeting, It's worthy of mention that Bob has extended his thanks and gratitude to staff and members alike.

I'd like to take this opportunity, in addition to wishing you all, and your families, a Very Merry Xmas and a Prosperous New Year, to pass on my thanks to Bob for continuing to ensure that the Forum functions most efficiently, problems sorted post haste and all PM's received by him are actioned asap, not placed in the pending basket, thus instilling confidence in the most novice Forum user.

Thanks very much for maintaining the Forum Bob - take some festive time off from the Forum. I'm sure, however, if I log on Xmas Day I will see user Bob Bacon has visited the site.

Anyway Bob, a Very Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year to you and your family.

Speak to you soon.

Hi All, at this time of year I normally post a nice photo of our house here in the winter wonderland of Canada. However, at the moment we have no snow, it's very mild, foggy and raining. The forecast says we are in for a green Christmas this year, very sad.

Anyway, I'd like to wish all Forum members a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2012.

I would also like to take this opportunity to ask members to spare a thought for everyone serving overseas, especially in dangerous areas of the world. To be away from your loved ones at any time is not easy but to be away at Christmas is very hard indeed. I wish them all the best and pray they come home safely in the near future.

Clive Hughes , Al-ap1 , Hywyn-Gwilwil , Bob-Baconwallah and anyone else that contributed . A merry christmas to everyone here at the forum and all military personnel everywhere that are dear in our hearts . All the best in the new year .
