It is with great sadness that I have to inform members of the sudden death of Nigel Dyer. Nigel was a long term associate member of the Aberystwyth Branch having served as an officer in the 2nd Mons. Following the creation of the new regiment of which the 2nd Mons was an antecedent regiment he became a full member of the branch.
Nigel was an active member and his devotion to the RBL is there for all to see. He was Ceredigion RBL Poppy Appeal Organiser and was a huge personality in the life of all ex-forces personnel and will be greatly missed.
He died whilst participating in the Remembrance Day Parade in Aberystwyth.
I have no details as yet regarding the funeral arrangements as he has to have a PM but will inform members as soon as they are available.
On a personal note I worked with Nigel when I left the forces (Shell UK) and he was always a gentleman and a true friend to the end.
Until we meet again on that great parade ground above, sleep tight friend in the sure knowledge that you are in our thoughts.
