Friends after the follow up responses to my last post Along with Allan Phillips we called in to the Metropole and Elephant & Castle hotels. the Elephant has a very good project underway and will eventually achieve the aim of gaining 4 star rating however it will not be ready for us intime for next year. The Metropole is almost at the end of its refurbishment and has been awarded 4 star status and we were very pleased and feel that you will be too. We have been offered a very good deal and I believe that you will also. Shortly you will be receiving a news letter and booking form so come on and give us your backing

regards
TC.

We will have to call off now this is Army v Navy weekend (I am part of the management team), so impossible for me to attend.

Its a pity has we have not missed for a while.

Though we am sure that you will have a good weekend.

I will be doing both days, in fact I'm considering a very long weekend ... (more like a short week), because I absolutely love this part of the world.

If anyone wants to accompany me on a walk up to the source of the Severn via the Clwyedog dam (CLICK) (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=clywedog+dam&hl=en&rlz=1T4DSGK_en___GB387&prmd=ivnsm&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=u4hqTojBC8HB8QPMurhD&ved=0CDYQsAQ&biw=1536&bih=675) and possibly on to Pen Pumlumon (CLICK) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plynlimon) then let me know, and if anyone is worried about 'stuff to do' then Google the village of Berriew, (you'll never have seen such a beautiful place before) the towns of Montgomery and Ludlow (where the regiment was formed), Powys castle (tercentenary parade location) - all this and more within a stone's throw.

Oh - and BTW I'll drink the lot of you under the table anyway
