I regret that there is some more sad news, this time, regarding Pierre Labelle who was the Vandoo exchange officer in Tidworth in the mid 70s and was OC Atk platoon. He had been in the Canadian forces for 45 years, serving in Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, and Cyprus.

A CBC News (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/story/2011/08/05/lt-col-cyclist-killed.html) report stated that Pierre was killed in RTA -police say a cyclist who was killed Thursday night in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, Que. was 63-year-old Lt.-Col. Pierre Labelle.

The lieutenant-colonel died after he was struck by a car along Highway 371 northwest of Quebec City. The Chicoutimi native who was living in Montreal was taking part in a cadets music camp at CFB Valcartier.

Our sincere condolence go to Pierre's family, friends and comrades at his untimely death. Although in Tidworth during his attachment with the Battalion I only vaguely remember him from the times I played at Officers Mess dinners.
Until we meet again on that great parade ground above, sleep tight friend in the knowlege that you are in our thoughts always.

A very sad loss indeed. A very kind considerate gent indeed, and as Geoff has said very fair but firm. Condolances to his family and to his friends.
