Dear Bill,
Regrettably I don’t have any photos of the Ferret, from memory I think that the Ferret was painted in “olive green” stencilled above each wheel on the mud guard in white paint was the tire pressers of the wheels. At the time the Battalion was part of “8 Infantry Brigade” There would be an 8in yellow disc with the number 8 in black position on the front, left side of the ferret. I think others on the forum can confirm, that the Battalion flag was stencilled front and back of the Ferret and at the bottom of the Flag in white was the lettering, 1 Bn RWF

Dear Bill,
The green flag with red Welsh Dragon centre, is the Regimental Flag of the newly formed “The Royal Welsh” The colours of “The Royal Welch Fusiliers” was Maroon & Blue with a rampart red dragon centre an example of the rampart dragon can be seen on the left side of this forum. An examples of how the flag will look on your Ferret: Stencil on Ferret firstly an 8in - 6in oblong shape, top 3in to be maroon, bottom 3in blue and then place dragon centre facing left as you look at flag. along the bottom of flag stencil a oblong shape 8in-2in in white and then centre stencil 1 R W F in black.
I hope this is helpful to you, fine tuning if my memory has not been exact can be done by others on this forum.
