Hi Alex

Not much I am sorry to say.

Looks to be a post WW1 boy. He served with the 1st Bn and went with them to India. He is entitled to a India General Service Medal with one bar for Waziristan 1921-24

Hello Richard, Thank you for that, he served for a long time, he was awarded the LSGC, so is it possible that he served in WW2?. Thanks again, Alex

Hello Richard, the number I gave is the one on his LSGC which is GVI Regular army bar so it looks like he did keep the same number. Alex

Hi Alex.

Ok - that helped Smile Double checked through my data. Found your chap.

Awarded his LSCG under AO 75 of Apr 1939. Taking off the 18 years of undetected crime gives him an elistment date of circa 1921, so ties in with the above.

Chances are he has WWII service.

Richard

Alex,

I know its a longshot but;

Page 299 of Red Dragon makes mention of CSM Wright who in 1939 was part of a group of Officers, WO's and Snco's who helped mobilise the 8th Bn within 115th(RW) Infantry Bde.

What caught my eye was that it also made mention that many of these guys in the brigade were all either regular or reservists and many had seen active service between the wars.

What is the rank on the side of the LSGC
