You should be able to access the Arcade now - a new arcade has been installed, which we will be testing for several weeks to see how well it works.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
This new arcade version has been specifically written to work with vBulletin; the other arcade wasn't. In addition, the author of the ibPro Arcade is no longer updating the module. This means that whenever we update vBulletin, I have to make numerous changes to the code to get the old arcade working properly again.
<o:p></o:p>
This is only a trial; however, and if members don't like it, we can always re-active the old arcade system.
<o:p></o:p>
Please post any problems you might encounter when playing the games etc.<o:p></o:p>

You will find that on some of the games when you submit your scores it goes to a white screen. I am aware of this and will be looking at the problem later today

Keith,

On the right hand side of the screen, under the information about the individual game you are playing you should see the option Resolution:

This is a drop menu. Just select the size of screen that you want from the options shown

When viewing the Arcade home page, the default tab is 'New'. What this means is that this will show all games, sorted by the newest games first. The latest games will also be shown in the News & Events section, in the left-hand column.

Is that for a particular game (Master Blaster)? I had the same problem and I am looking into it!

It's ok now Bob, it is working fine (Maritime Channel)

I have created an account with Mochia Media, which is a*FREE* advertising network that offers thousands of *FREE* games! The downside of this is that some of the games come with a 10-15 second advert that plays before the game starts. Hopefully, you will agree, the better quality of the games they offer outweight the disadvantages of the adverts.

But it gets even better... by signing up as a publisher and hosting the SWF games files on our site we will receive earnings when members play the games. (Don't get too excited, it's hardly a king's ransom!) It is also easier for me as there is no more searching the Internet for games; all I have to do is just browse the catalogue and click to install new games.

When playing games in the Arcade, some of you might have found that some scores are saving for the game but not when you play the game immediately again afterwards; you get an error message saying you don't have permission to access this part of the forum.

Apparently, there is some code to attempt to stop people from cheating but submitting scores and part of it takes into account times; it might be getting caught up in that section. I am currently waiting for the developer to check this error to see if it can be fixed.

Once again, you have come up trumps Bob.

One thing though, my Chris is not into computers in a big way, and used to have games stored in My Favourite. Can you tel me know if this is still available, or is another way of keeping games that are played on a regular basis?

Bob,

Like the new format.

Just a point, when I get a high score and submit it tells me (nasher546 you do not have access to this!)

Paul,

What game was it and were you playing it for a second time, immediately after the first go?

Roger,

After the game has finished and the score is shown, in the left hand column there should be an option to save it as a favourite game (favorite). After that, to get to the favorite games, just select the favorites tab on the categories tabs

For those that are interested and who aren't already aware of it, in your own profile you will see another tab at the end called Arcade Statistics. This details your arcade activity and stats.

If you view another member's stats, you will see an option to 'Challenge' that person to a game of your choosing. To accept challenges from other members you need to make sure your arcade settings have been set up correctly. To do that, when in the Arcade select Edit Arcade Options (http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/vBulletin/profile.php?do=editarcade) from the menu, or click here (http://www.rwf-forum.co.uk/vBulletin/profile.php?do=editarcade)

Bob, Yes you are right I was playing it for a second time. It happened on more than one game. However, all seems to be OK now.

Bob,

This is the problem as I see it. If you play a game for the first time when you log on that is OK and it will accept your score. If you then replay the game and then try to put in your score it gives you the message, (forum name, you do not have access to this page). You then have to log off and re-enter the arcade to play the game again for it to accept your score. This has happend to me on a number of the new games. Does this help?

Paul,

It's a bit hit and miss. I tried logging off and back in earlier to see what happened, but it still didn't accept the score. I even tried deleting the 'cookies' on my computer, which didn't help either. As far as I'm aware, it effects some, but not all, of the old games we imported across from the old IPB Arcade

The developer of the v3 Arcade has overnight updated our site with the most recent beta copy of v3A. He has then tried a few games, like Master Blaster, over & over again and he didn't get any errors.

This of course doesn't mean every game is the same, so please put the games through their paces and let me know if any of you are still reporting the 'No Permission' error after repeatedly playing a game.

Noted - it is obviously the previous issue where you play the game again, immediately after the first go. I might remove them and stop loading games from IPB

On two occassions this morning I hasve gone into my favorites and then into Cube O Logic, have lost the games and have had greater scores than is shown on the game site. I try to enter the scores and all I am getting is the following

Roger, we thought we had fixed this problem; however, it came back when we added two more of the IBPro Games some weeks ago (theses are the games that are causing the problem). I am waiting for the developer to take another look
