I was wondering what favorite, (or perhaps not so favorite) smells some of the forum members had. This could be from day to day, nostalga or other memories. I am sure some of you will have some 'eye openers' on this one.

One of my favorites would be the smell of toast.

The smell of good fish and chips wafting down a narrow street as you leave the pub.

When your wondering around outside somewhere or working, Starving Hungry, Onions Frying, or Bacon. God it's Mouth Watering. The worst is when that Cluttons wagon that collects the Waste from the Slaughterhouses passes. God it's evil. Oh and the Animal Skin Wagon

Love the smell of Bryl Cream, reminds me of my Daidy. As soon as we're in the UK, (like Gwyn said) a chippy in the vicinity always does it.

Hate the smell of stinky trainers.

Good smells:
The waft of bratwursts being grilled in a Schnell Imbis......I'm salivating now.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The smell of petrol and finally the smell of a good British Roast Beef dinner.

Smells I hate:
Sulphurous obnoxious effluvium’s (farts) from both humans and dogs.
The smell of stale sweat!

The smell of a wet cam net takes me back. Oh and theres nothing like the smell of Kiwi black whilst squaring away the toe caps pre guard duty.

Yums... My late mums Sunday dinners & the smell of a baby.

Yuks.... The stink of the hops in Cardiff, before Brains got a better Brewery.
The smell of starch & black Kiwi polish - All those wasted hours bulling your kit for some snot nosed kiddie that can't even dress himself properly to criticise your ironing/ bulling skills.

Colin go to Pets R Us or some such pet outlet and there is a huge amount of dog shampoo's there that will make them smell sweet until they get wet again. I've got 2 Westies (White) well white is the colour they're supposed to be they just think its fun to get muddy and dirty.......hey that's dogs mate!

Could be a diet thing, something she's eating is causing skin secretions. Also could be whatever you're using to wash her is causing an enzyme reaction. My Mam's spaniel goes in the sea a lot and he pongs to high heaven, my Mam's used to the stink but it makes my eyes water.

You might want to get her glands checked out too - ears, bottom etc. When infected or impacted they can stink to buggery and because you can't see them, you never think to check them. (My Dad used to breed dogs - some info stuck, haha)

My old lad stank a bit so the wife changed his food to the dry stuff on advice from a friend or the vet not sure which. It did make a huge difference, though it took a while for him to accept the change of diet.

Mrs GW is weird, I occasionally come home smelling of creosote and steel (building overhead lines) and she loves it. For me, bacon, coffee, baking bread and hot chocolate.

Just thought of another: The smell of fresh baked bread (made by Shirley of course) coupled with the smell of freshly ground coffee brewing away in the kitchen........I'm off now as I'm making myself hungry again!
