Hello Hingey and 929,
the 1st battalion used to host the comrades week end. I think this has gone down the swannee because of battalion committments and the lack of space at the Dale. It may well be even that cost now comes into the reckoning.
I have been to many of these week ends including Berlin, Wiltshire, and of course Chepstow which is probably the last I can remember going to. But at Chepstow it was combined with the new Colour presentations
Regards RBD.
to put it in a nut shell i beleive we no longer host due to space at the dale and funding but more importantly and in fairness it probably comes down to Battalion commitments.. that said last year the WO & sgts Mess hosted a generation Day & Night which was a hugh succsess with rifle ranges and activities on all day followed by a Regimental dinner that evening. PS i am nearly a Comrade and look forward to a few of the events in the future...

Hello Matt,
I should have put E&OE at the end of my last reply to this thread. As you so rightly point out the Dale did manage to host the regeneration night and what a rip roaring succes it was( many thanks to all concerned) Going even further back the 1st held Comrade week ends in both Berlin and Lemgo, and of course the 1st managed to accommodate the former W.O's and Sjts in the Dale for the L.O.F. and that again was a wonderful night.
Many thanks RBD aka jungle1810.
