Desert Island Discs is a long-running BBC Radio 4 programme first broadcast on 29 January 1942. Guests are invited to imagine themselves cast away on a desert island, and to choose eight pieces of music, originally gramophone records, to take with them.

At the end of the programme they choose the one piece they regard most highly. They are then asked which book they would take with them.

Guests also choose one luxury, which must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside. Examples of luxuries have included champagne and a piano, the latter of which is one of the most requested luxuries.

I thought we might have some fun by creating a version of it for the forum. So members are invited to imagine themselves cast away on a desert island, and to post what they would want to have with them:

1. A film
2. A book
3. one luxury, which must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside.
4. A meal to have for the rest of your days! (One course)
5. An entire season of one Television show.
6. A beverage hot/cold/alcoholic to have for the rest of ur days
7. An Album of Music

Just a bit of fun, but its quite difficult when you think about....
