Personally, anything slimy I stay away from, so I have no idea, don't want to know and have no intention of ever finding out!

i ate them about 4 years ago whilst staying in France, I must admit they were lovely covered in garlic butter. Sid Price and I had a bet who would eat the most I cant remember how many came on the plate but over 14, sid ate 1 and hiis daughter ate 1 i ate the rest.

Wonderful with garlic butter! If anyone has eaten winkles (shell food you have to extract with a pin from their shells)) those are clased as sea snails they taste really good too!

Tried them and not at all impressed. I think they are served with garlic butter to hide the taste which I found to be very bitter. Now whelks...that is a different story. Served with mayo or left to stand in red wine vinegar with chopped onion for 5-10 mins, luvvly jubbly. (provided they are not overcooked..elastic bands springs to mind)

Whelks, Winkles & Cockles. All very nice with a little vinegar, salt & pepper. I suppose there is not a lot of difference between them and snails.

I can never catch the little buggers!
Snails Wonderful with garlic butter! I agree but have to be cooked and prepared properly, the ones in Tesco and Asda are hard as nail must be Council Snails, But Tripe never I was a Butcher and would never eat what we sold as Dog Food, not even if it was Welsh, as its just blooming tasteless, Frogs legs are not much to talk about though and JT would never get close to them lol

Got talked into eating them by a very pretty French girl. I am going to stop talking to pretty french girls cos the last one made me sick. Eating dirt flavoured snot is not my favourite sensation.
