Forum members,

The evening was a great success and I know Dai personally contributed towards the funding for the evening thereby ensuring all those who attended had a fantastic time with plenty of food and drink had by all. For those of you not aware Dai has contributed a lot to the 2nd Bn especially in regards to supporting the rugby team which as we all know, walked away with the army cup after a great win over the Welsh Guards this year.

As Dai mentioned I am now serving with the 2nd Bn as the RQMS (M) and have been since March. The 2nd Bn (across the rank range) have been very receptive towards me and have made me feel welcome since day 1, especially the former RSM and now current RCMO, Capt Davies (Dai 29 - on the forum). I think this just reinforces the point we move forwards in time as one regiment, The Royal Welsh .

Life within the 2nd Bn is as busy as it was in the 1st , there is an Armoured Coy currently preparing to deploy on Op Herrick in the summer and presently they are conducting all the training exercises that entails. There is also a large composite group deploying to Afghanistan later on in the summer to assist in the coordination and conduct of the RSOI package for the next Herrick RiP and in the latter part of the year FSP Coy deploy to the Falkands for 3 months.
