Dear All,
Under a sunny sky, family and Friends gathered at “Blacon Crematorium Chester” at 1400hrs on Thursday 4th March 2010, accompanying Dear Desmond Burgess on his final journey. Des, passed away after a short illness on Saturday 20th February 2010, he was aged 84. A most polished eulogy was given by the family, and the service most proficiently conducted by The Rev. Paul Varah. A Bugler from The 3rd Bn The Royal Welsh, sounded the last post and revelry. I was pleased to represent all members of The LOF at the service, with Capt Roy Blewitt representing the Officers Ass and the Royal Welch Fusiliers Comrades Ass. I am instructed by Des family to express their sincere thanks to everyone for the kindness and sympathy extended to them at this time of sorrow.
Regards Glyn
