Welcome MAGAR50, Please take a moment and introduce yourself to the Royal Welch community in this forum. Just share a bit about yourself. For instance, whether or not you are/were a serving member of the Regiment or Armed Forces, what your interests are and how you plan to use the site.

Thank you

I am trying to trace details of my fathers service history during WW2
His name was Thomas Raymond Thomas and all I have is a photo.

He was in his thirties when he married in 1947 therefore was not as young as some of his pals

Hi Magar,

If you have your fathers service number its fairly easy to obtain his service record.

Are his medals(if any) in your possession, his service number will be etched onto the rim of the medal. It would be useful to see the photo, sometimes the guys pick up detail the casual observer might miss. Finally any stories he may have passed down from his service, sometimes this helps narrow down his army time to a particular RWF unit.
